 Cup Draws

CupLast night`s league meeting also saw the second round cup draws being made. The Crompark First Team will entertain Halifax Direct in the Pool Paper Mills Cup whilst the seconds visit the Cookridge B team. Ties take place on Sunday 6th June, the full draws are as follows:-

 Both Teams Receive Byes in Cup

Both Crompark teams have benefited from a bye in the first rounds of the respective cup competitions on 9th May. 

Both teams will now kick-off their cup campaigns on Sunday 6th June.

 Crompark lose Cawthorne Cup thriller

CupThe Crompark 2nd Team
Chasing their first win in the competition the Crompark 2nd Team unfortunately fell at the final hurdle in Sunday`s Cawthorne Cup Final at Baildon`s main Jenny Lane ground. Crompark started as narrow favourites against the New Farnley C Team having beaten them in a recent League match and also their B team in the Semi final.

Batting first, New Farnley posted a decent total of 164 in their 40 overs. In the run-chase Crompark never quite got ahead of the run rate and fell just 2 runs short with 2 balls remaining when captain Stuart Jones was bowled in the final over. Andy Halliday top-scored for Crompark with 45.

Having reached the final for the fourth time in 12 years without success it seems as though it may have to be fifth time lucky in 2010 ?
